I find people outraged at the very thought of horse slaughter, then when you ask if they drink milk and explain what happens to dairy calves they just can't believe it. I suppose it depends on what you view as "humane" - most think a quick slaughter is inhumane, but then they've never seen an animal starve to death either.
We sit in a country where 99% of us never go to bed hungry. I find it incredulous that "we" sit on high horses telling the rest of the world what to eat or not eat. Of course these are the same individuals who pretend we didn't eat horses before we rode them.Kathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16933105773412843275noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31827832.post-53950763411181224622008-10-28T19:28:00.000-07:002008-10-28T19:28:00.000-07:00Franna,Thanks for helping to get the warning about...Franna,

Thanks for helping to get the warning about HSUS out. They are working harder at hiding their long term agenda and ties with PETA as people start realizing the extent they will go to. I like buying from your farm and share your site with people interested.

Tina,
GSD's, sheep, and mulesTinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05715400647845700796noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31827832.post-20402479017104708492008-10-27T14:34:00.000-07:002008-10-27T14:34:00.000-07:00Oh, Katie, We all are entitled to our opinions. Their ultimate agenda is to do away with all animal ownership, and they are working in powerful, tug at your heartstrings ways that no wonderful animal loving person can resist.

As for Obama, he may not know what the HSUS agenda is. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt at this time. HSUS has fooled many very bright people, and continues to do so. It is one of the things that makes them very dangerous to those of us who really do care about sharing our lives with animals.

- Franna
with no ties to either Democrat or Republican agendasFrannahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04251158925458606105noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31827832.post-47216211795814658662008-10-27T14:09:00.000-07:002008-10-27T14:09:00.000-07:00Wow - that is one of the most ridiculous things I ...Wow - that is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever read. Neither the Humane Society nor Barack Obama wants to take away our right to own a dog... or any other animals. And just because someone gets an endorsement from an agency doesn't mean they believe in every goal of the agency. If you are concerned about Mr. Obama's plans for our great country, then go to his website where he has everything he wants to do laid out for everyone to see. The Republican National Committee is spreading all kinds of lies about him because they are so desperate and are realizing that they are going to lose this election. Please do your research before posting something like this - I've received emails from several local spinners who are passing this rant around to let people know not to buy from your farm.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04132677370254962226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31827832.post-24665368145255801012008-10-23T19:53:00.000-07:002008-10-23T19:53:00.000-07:00Thanks for commenting, Kathy. By couching their agenda into "sympathetic" and "rescue" causes, we're all being drawn down the path, until finally there will be no turning back.

I was thinking about the horse slaughter ban. It sounds so good on the surface. Who wants to harm the gentle and loyal horse? But with a ban, what happens to all the lame and old horses? Not everyone can afford to keep pensioners on, and even fewer can afford it now. So instead of a (semi-)humane slaughter, they're starved and neglected and shipped off where we have no control over the conditions of slaughter. Is that better because it's not under our noses? I don't think so.
- FrannaFrannahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04251158925458606105noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31827832.post-55153311619583866692008-10-22T15:07:00.000-07:002008-10-22T15:07:00.000-07:00Interesting. I will have to look into this as well.Kathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16933105773412843275noreply@blogger.com
